Our Craft

We are filmmakers that came of age in the internet era. And we apply the same rigor to web video that the filmmakers we most admire apply to their films. We want viewers to watch our content over and over, the way they would with their favorite movie or TV show.

We team with brands, artists, and agencies that are willing to take creative risks, in the belief that an audience will follow.

Slow Clap believes that authentic storytelling lies at the heart of all great videos, campaigns, and outreach programs. In a digital world where viewers have a trillion different choices, it’s authentic, entertaining, and meaningful content that connects peoples with brands and drives them to share. We create stories that feel so right that you actually want to stand up and clap… slowly.

Slow Clap is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our studio features a creative lab, a studio space for filming interviews and camera tests, video editing & motion graphic suites, and some great collaborative spaces for when our clients visit. There’s plenty of street parking, in case you were wondering.

Our Commitment

We are honored to partner with community-based organizations to tell the stories that most deserve to be told. Every year, we dedicate at least 10% of our working calendar to this work at below market rates, with at least 5% of our time working pro bono. We also make sure these stories are told by a diverse group of filmmakers who reflect the world we live in.

Slow Clap has been owned and operated by Daniel Lichtenberg since 2014. There are no outside investors, parent companies, conglomerates, private equity firms, or the like. When you hire Slow Clap, you can be sure you will work directly with the people who have a financial interest in the success of our business. And you can be certain that you are supporting a small, local business.

In fact, we’re a certified Small Business Enterprise with the State of California, and a certified Local Business Enterprise with the City of San Francisco.
