In 2016, while at a wedding, Steve suddenly collapsed from a heart attack. After being airlifted to a nearby hospital and flatlining 3 times it was discovered Steve had a birth defect in his heart. Something that was never discovered due to a healthy and fit lifestyle. With Blue Shield of California, he was able to make a full recovery and is now enjoying life with his wife Vera.
