Señora Lucia is the matriarch of her family, someone who is defined by the love of her children. When she suffered a stroke, she was taken away from her family and placed into a care facility. Blue Shield of California and the Promise Health Plan helped get her back to her family, in the comfort of her own home.

Slow Clap worked with Blue Shield of California's communications team to identify and tell this story. We developed a concept based on Señora Lucia's unique personality and family, we conducted pre-interviews, wrote a story outline and interview questions, and came up with a shot list and filming plan. We built trust with our video subjects in advance, so that everything went smoothly when we arrived in Los Angeles to capture the family. The result is an inspiring, fun, unconventional member story that spotlights BSC's unique and compassionate approach to home-based healthcare.
