Earn the Day


Earn the Day, a non-profit that takes deserving youth on uncommon and exciting outdoor experiences in hopes of widening their perspectives, commissioned Slow Clap to make a video to raise awareness about their cause. We could’ve done it the easy way, and had their founders explain their story, make a straightforward pitch to potential donors. But instead, Earn the Day trusted us when we said the cause speaks for itself, and the best way to let it sing is to take a no-frills documentary approach. We documented a unique day where a group of kids from San Francisco’s Mission District got to go surfing for the first time ever. It took a lot of hard work to whittle down the hours and hours of footage into a concise, inspiring story. But that’s what we love doing most.
